Since November 1, 2006, Iwata City Hospital charges a Specified Initial Visit Fee for patients being examined at Iwata City Hospital for the first time outside of the regular hours and on weekends, public holidays, and during the New Year holiday (the same fee applies to initial visits during the regular weekday hours). Patients who are examined outside of the regular hours for non-urgent reasons must pay at their own expense the amount corresponding to the additional after-hours charge.

  • Patients transported to the hospital in an ambulance
  • Patients who are hospitalized after an examination
  • Patients who have been in a traffic, work-related, or other accident

Patients with assistance dogs

Iwata City Hospital allows patients to be accompanied by assistance dogs (guide, service, or hearing-assistance dogs) according to the Act on Assistance Dogs for Physically Disabled Persons.

Medical interpretation

Iwata City Hospital was authorized as a Designated Hospital for Foreign Residents in FY2015 and on July 25, 2016.
Two Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking medical interpreters are stationed at Iwata City Hospital to provide service to many international patients. However, they can only help so many patients, so we recommend bringing an interpreter with you to ensure the smoothest medical care possible.
